About Mary Sample
Mary Sample
has been studying and practicing various forms of holistic healing and energy
medicine since 1995. She is a Reiki Master and a certified instructor/practitioner
with the International Association of Reiki Practitioners (IARP).
She regularly teaches seminars to train people to do Reiki and holds a monthly
“Reiki Share”. Mary is building a Reiki community where practitioners
can come to build skills and nurture each other.
Mary is a graduate of the Healing the Light Body School, which trained her in the Inkan tradition of Luminous healing and energy medicine. This healing work involves cleansing and balancing the luminous body (aura), removing blockages that can interfere with healing, retrieving lost soul parts, and assisting with life passage. Mary has been trained in shamanic techniques from the native peoples of both North and South America. She conducts fire ceremonies and rituals from these traditions for groups in the Wilmington, Delaware area.
Mary is a Pastoral Counselor, which allows her to incorporate spirituality into psychotherapy. She currently sees clients for individual psychotherapy and co-facilitates a psychodynamic therapy group for women. When appropriate, Mary incorporates Energy Psychology into her work by using Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). Mary’s holistic approach to her healing work also involves the spiritual dimension of the mind-body connection. She continues to develop this in herself with her regular practice of meditation and Aikido (link to dojo). She has also trained in Qigong and Yoga, as well as various forms of meditation.
